Model selection
How to select a model
Calculate required cooling capacity (W/K) of BOXFAN in accordance with the following procedure.
Please select a model which capacity rating is larger than the calculated value.

What is the unit W/K (watt per kelvin)?
W : Heat flow 1W = 1 J/S
1W/K means the ability to let heat flow of 1 W out from a cabinet when the temperature difference between the cabinet interior and the external air is 1K.
As an example, 5W/K is the ability to let heat flow of 5W from inside to outside when the temperature difference between inside and outside of the cabinet is 1K.

・Heat exchanging performance can be affected by enclosure's airtightness, location of heat generators, filter clogging and others. It is recommended to make selection with allowance for such losses.
・Avoid making a selection so as the temperature inside enclosure can exceed +60℃ despite of using the BOXFAN.
・Because of its operating principle, heat exchanger’s performance declines when temperature gap between inside and outside narrows.
・Each rated capacity of our BOXFANs indicates the nominal value when enclosure interior’s temperature is higher than outside
by 20℃. It is recommended to make a selection with setting the allowable internal temperature to be higher than the maximum external temperature by 20℃ or more. If temperature gap is less than 10℃, performance declines significantly.
